Octopus

I made this at school ! Every Wednesday I teach music to the little kids (at the Early Childhood Center affiliated with our school) Yesterday I walked into Melinda Ackermann's class and saw the kids doing an art project with real (but not living) fish, squid and a little octopus. The sea creatures are laid out on the table and you paint them any color you want. Then you lay a piece of white paper over it, smush it all around......and when you lift the paper....out comes this beautiful print. Never know what I'm going to do every Wednesday besides teaching music. Oh, and the Kindergarten kids LOVED the song, "On top of Spaghetti" !!!

Crocodile
...and Mark's birthday parties continue all month. Here he is with his favorite gift..called "Crocodile Dentist" given to him by XiaoYang, young University senior we've known for more than three years. She and three other friends were with us yesterday at the Seeker Coffee House in Tianjin for lunch. We laughed a lot as you can see.

Mrs. "Paprika" the Music Teacher
Every Wednesday I go to the Early Childhood Center - the Preschool Part of Tianjin International School. I teach Music and Singing to three different ages - the Foundations Class(3 yr olds), the Junior Kindergarten (4 year olds) and the Kindergarten (5 yr olds). A lot of these kids are learning English as their second language. One little Korean girl named Joy can't remember my name, so she calls me Mrs. Paprika. I kinda like it !
